Our values

Multiplying disciples

We are believing for disciples not just attendees or decisions. We will accept and welcome anyone and don’t expect any of their time, treasure, or talents. Our approach come along, try it out, you’ll be so welcome whether you choose to stay or not. However, when someone commits their lives to Jesus, we long for them to become a true follower of his, grow in understanding of the bible and we will do all we can to encourage them to become fully engaged in the life and mission of the Church, to get baptised and to live life with Jesus in charge.

Generosity

We are a generous community. We will not pass an offering plate around or have offering talks and will only speak about money in our services when the Bible does. We will encourage our members to be generous, hopefully with a regular monthly gift. Our goal is to give away 25 per cent of all that comes in to the needy on our doorsteps, and the poorest of the poor around the world and use the rest for the mission of the Message Community Church. We will also encourage generosity with time and hospitality.

Prayer

We are driven by prayer. We know for sure and from experience that more prayer equals more blessing. We will circulate weekly prayer requests and needs and support each other in prayer. At our meetings there will always be the opportunity to receive prayer. We will have special seasons of prayer and fasting and once a month we will draw all our midweek home groups together for a special power-packed prayer and vision evening.

Community

We are committed to the local community. Wythenshawe is home to around 110,000 people and we are convinced that God has great plans for this huge estate. Whilst everyone, from anywhere, is always welcome at Message Community Church, we will be making sure that outreach to and for the people of Wythenshawe is always a special focus.

Fun

We are determined to have fun. Whilst we take the good news of Jesus very seriously, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and want to celebrate, have fun, and party. Regular eating together happens after church on a Sunday and our regular events and are a great chance to connect and invite friends and family. More than that, we want to do all we can to be great friends and to live life to the full and laugh a lot together.

*We are not planning on employing Pastors or Senior Leaders so need committed members to step up to make this new church happen.
